These ammonites differ from our split your own ammonite range, as there is less limestone matrix surrounding the fossil, resulting in it being harder to split them with a hammer and chisel.
With the use of an inexpensive dremel, or similar tool, the matrix can be removed to reveal the glorious detail waiting to be revealed for the first time in 180 million years.
